Info about Stouts Hill from the information book in the room -
The present house was built after 1743. It was purchased in 1786 by a family who lived in it until 1830. Members of the family continued to live in the house for the next 70 years after that it was rented out.
In 1930 the house was leased to Stouts Hill Preparatory School - the school purchased the property in 1970 until 1982 when it was purchased for timeshare development.
Stephen Fry attended Stouts Hill School as a child.
It remains as a timeshare development today.

Pictures of apartment 9 can be found in this blog post. It had so much character with old doors, an old stone fireplace in the lounge and stone exposed walls. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and modern. The apartment was gas centrally heated which was fully controllable with TRV's on each radiator. There was also an electric heater in the room which we did not need to use. Although this apartment was located in the main house it had its own separate entrance.
Pictures of apartment 8 can be found in this blog post, it was another lovely apartment. While me and Mark preferred apartment 9, Anais and Roman preferred apartment 8 because of its quirkiness. It was on multi layers with lots of little alcoves and hiding places. There was big sash windows in this apartments and fully controlled radiators again. Apartment 8 was accessible by going through reception and was located in the main house.
Pictures of apartment 7 can be found in this blog post. It is a one bedroom on the ground floor with its own private patio area.

Picture's of inside the main house can be found in the this blog post.
Each apartment was equipped to a very high standard with delicate china and crystal glasses. The kitchen had an oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and even a coffee pot! Each apartment also had a CD stereo, 32 inch TV with a DVD player and video player. DVD's and video's could be borrowed from a lending library in reception. There was also a selection of books in reception to borrow on the history of the building and surrounding area. Hard and soft back reading books could also be borrowed.
There was so much to do for families here - an indoor and outdoor swimming pool (outdoor swimming pool seasonal only), pitch and putt golf, a 9 hole golf course, croquet, tennis, badminton, a games room with darts, table tennis, air hockey, table football and pool. All equipment is available to borrow free of charge.
The grounds were very pretty to walk in with a lake on site for fishing.
There was a small laundry on site which we did not use.
Would we stay here again? Absolutely, definitely, YES! And we would recommend it to others too, beautiful accommodation in a beautiful old house in beautiful grounds in a beautiful area.
