Review - Quaysiders Club, Ambleside
We stayed at Quaysider's for a week in February 2014 having an upstairs apartment with a balcony. The apartment was clean, spacious and equipped to a good standard. The kitchen had a dishwasher, microwave oven, electric hob and oven, fridge and even a mini freezer which was a bonus! The TV in the lounge is small but is made up by the fact that there is Sky HD in the apartment (we only put Absolute 80's radio on) and you can also borrow DVD's from the DVD library in reception free of charge. There is also a CD and radio stereo in the lounge. Heating is by electric heaters, there is also an electric towel rail in the bathroom and a small electric heater in a "wet cupboard" in the hallway. Wifi is provided at a cost of £5 per week which will connect up to two devices. Beds are made up on arrival and bath towels and swimming towels are provided.
The kids enjoyed going swimming everyday although the swimming pool is only small and only ten people are allowed in it at any one time. There was only one day we could not use the pool when we wanted to as it was busy - we went back later in the day when it was quieter. Often, the kids had the swimming pool to themselves.
There is no washing machine in the apartment but there is a launderette with two washing machine's and two tumble drier's which are both free of charge to use. We were also surprised to find that the washing powder and liquid conditioner were provided free of charge too! We came home with NO washing to do as we had done it throughout the week and on the Friday night before we came home.
Our electric/WIFI bill inc VAT for the week was a very reasonable £28 considering we had the electric heater's on throughout the week, the dishwasher almost twice a day, the TV on every night and shower's everyday too.
The apartment is a VERY short stroll to the shore's of Waterhead, Ambleside, Lake Windermere where we enjoyed going for a walk most days to feed the ducks. It is also a short walk to Ambleside town centre with some quirky little shops and a handy Tesco Express.
We would definitely stay here again as the location is fantastic and the apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped for a family.
Internal pictures of the apartment can be found in blog posts here and here.
