Next book download - "The Aviator's Wife" - Melanie Benjamin.
This evening me, Mark, Roman, mom and dad went to The Symphony Hall in town to see Anais and her school orchestra play with members of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. She has had extra practise after school and also had workshop days where they haven't had any normal lessons but practised, practised, practised.
Very proud of you Anais! Her orchestra played two songs and at the end the conductor shook her hand which she told us was because she was "head of the orchestra" - you learn something new every day!

The first half was the CBSO playing with a soprano singer singing. Think Roman was a little bored though he was as good as gold and never moaned once throughout. I had to stiffle the giggles when at the end of the first half I asked Mark what time it was and he said (totally bored) 1AM! At the same time as Roman who started to clap too early when no-one else did and Anais burst out laughing at Roman, so the combination of the three of them I had to supress the giggles!
The second half was much more enjoyable - "Symphonia Domestica". Can't say any of us are fans of classical music and we have never seen a live orchestra play before so it was a new experience for all of us. Lots of questions from Anais and Roman - why are we clapping for so long!?!?!?!?
They were both tired when we got home and they both went straight to bed.
I am feeling very proud of Anais as I wouldn't have had the courage to play violin on a big stage and very proud of both of them as they were well behaved and didn't moan once. We have also all done something new today. Bed now *yawns!*
One last picture, it was still light when we came out at 9.45PM..........
