We had another lovely day today. After breakfast we popped to Aldi for a tub of ice-cream, cones and most important, sun cream! They both caught the sun yesterday and had sore necks last night and this morning. We empty the caravan for each winter and hadn't restocked it with sun cream yet as we didn't think we would need any over Easter.
For lunch we went to Coughton Court which was open today. We took a picnic with us, sausage rolls and pot of Aldi cold pasta for Anais and Roman to share and cous cous and salad for me. We sat on the picnic blanket in the sun on a large grassy area for lunch which was very nice. After lunch we walked around the little lake in the middle of the grounds to feed the ducks and then around the bog garden and over the quaint little bridges. We walked through the orchard, past the church and main house and back to the courtyard. They were growing lots and lots of tulips in every colour imaginable and in straight rows, I will upload a photo when we get home. We had a peek in the National Trust shop and then bought five books from the used bookshop, a Christmas book, a salt dough craft book, Roman had a "Recorder for Beginners" book and an "Art Attack" book and Anais had a reading book "Horror High". Anais and Roman played on the park and then we left and came back to the caravan.
This afternoon my cousin Caroline and her kids Poppie, Archie and Jamie came to visit us and the kids all played lovely running round, playing ball, playing with the Knex and eating ice-cream in the sun. Anais taught Poppie how to crochet a chain.
The crochet "table centre" I made last night turned into another crochet doily. I kept going to see how big I could make it but the maths was all wrong and instead of growing in proportion it went all "fluted". I unpicked it and turned it into a doily which is now sitting under a plant in the caravan.
I started a new book today "The Atlantis Code" - Charles Brokaw.
Tea tonight - chicken burgers on baps with coleslaw and salad.
