We visited a library to see what they offer for children, not just our local library but the Library of Birmingham which only opened in September 2013, two months ago.
It was HUGE! Books for children are in the basement which also has a central outdoor area for children to run round and left off some steam, you can look UP to see Centenary Square, there is also a table tennis table out there.
There are a LOT of escalators and a LOT of floors. There is a completely transparent lift (think "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") which takes you up to the seventh floor. On the third and seventh floors are outdoor garden area's to sit and read quietly and enjoy the views of Birmingham skyline.
On the ninth floor is a Shakespeare memorial and more nice indoor view's of Birmingham.
It was worth a visit and lots of quirky things for the kids to look at too so I think it would be worth a family visit to spend an hour or two there looking around and enjoying the views and then get a few books out to read.
I didn't realise but it is also the only library in Birmingham to open on Sunday's.
Lobster clasps, jump rings, head pins and pretty beads in her favourite colour's
