Guess who was the eejit who went to her course today to find out its not back until next week? Yep, me!
I came home instead and decided to do some crochet. I am going to try and not to buy anything else "crafty" and use up what I have. My craft cupboard is bursting at the shelves, last year Mark had to reinforce the shelves after one collapsed! I also came home from holiday with a washing basket and black bin bag of wool from Elaine! I want to use it all up, I need ideas for some of it though!
I brought this ball of wool last year with the intention of knitting a scarf with it. I have decided that I hate knitting though, I just cannot get to grips with it unless its the frilly wool and a basic stitch.
Roman keeps asking if I can crochet something for him, so I thought I could use this wool (Patons Landscape) and make a scarf for him for Christmas. I started it earlier thinking it would take a while but it crocheted together quite quickly as its chunky and I used a 6mm large hook. I thought I might as well finish it before I go to bed tonight.
To make it more "boysih" I added some blue chunky wool to it here and there from the stash from Elaine!
Anais and Roman had swimming lessons this evening.
The weather today has been so rubbish I "winterised" the conservatory. It is still very warm in there but to make it look cosier I put the rug back down, closed the blinds to slats (we leave them drawn open in the summer) and put the fluffy cover back on the sofa. This evening I also burnt a spicy gingerbread wax tart which makes everywhere smell cozy and "winterish"! The period drama box sets will be making an appearance soon, nothing nicer on an autumn evening than closing the curtains, lighting a scented candle and watching Pride & Prejudice or North & South!
Bed now xx
