Here is my cross stitch reindeer so far, I did an antler and outline today.
Anais had to be at orchestra for 4.00, Roman had to be at club for 4.00 too.
We had to be at orchestra 4.45 to 5.15 for the carol concert - they played three songs that they have been rehearsing for the Gala Concert in April and "Jingle Bells" and "Ding Dong Merrily on High" Christmas Carols. To say they are all children they played fantastic!
We left there at 5.15 and picked Roman up from club at 5.30.
We came home to tea already done as I knew it would be rush, rush so made a lamb hot pot in the slow cooker.
Anais had to be back at school for 6.00 to rehearse so Mark took her so she didn't have to walk in the dark and then we had to be at school 7.00-10.00 for the music evening which was 30 performances - solo's and group performances.
Anais performed three times, firstly in a group of five children playing string instruments and they performed two songs. The second time she played was with the whole school orchestra - brass, strings, woodwinds and percussionists - they all played the song they had been practising with the CBSO (City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra) and it was FANTASTIC to hear them all play together. The third piece she played she did a violin solo and was one of only two violin soloists and one of only fifteen soloists. From thirty performances - 15 were solo's (Anais was one of them) and 15 were group peformance's. I should also say that the performers ranged from Year 7 (Anais' year) up to the sixth form and student's who are preparing to take their exams (17 & 18 year olds) so I am feeling VERY proud of her tonight!
"Chrismas is brilyunt"
Today we were at Anais' music evening at school though. When we left at 10.00 we said shall we go and pop to see it quickly as its so pretty, it gives me a lump in my throat everytime I see it as brings back lots of happy memories from being a child at Christmas.
So will leave you with a picture of a beautiful Christmas Tree.............
