I had the bright idea this morning to sand down and re-stain this bookcase.
It took a LONG time to get all the layers of stain and varnish off and back to bare wood.
I stained it with stain we already had in the shed which should have come out an "oakish" colour but when applied was as dark as the stain before.

This evening we weren't sure whether to go to the cinema or not being "Saver Tuesday". No-one could agree on a film we all wanted to see and as we had left it late most of them were fully booked anyway when we looked online.
So, we hired a film instead - the new "Fantastic Four".
I got stuck on a round of Sophie's written instructions and couldn't put the Youtube video on as everyone was watching the film. I gave up for tonight and will re-look at it tomorrow.

The pretty flowers got too heavy for the bush and fell off. So I popped them in a bowl of water and they look pretty!
