We went to see Destiny Africa tonight, Anais was doing workshops with them today and there was a concert held tonight. WOW - truly humbling and inspiring.
The children sung and dance African songs. There was a huge wall hung TV in the background that had video's of life in Africa playing - poverty. Serious stories were told - one girl was abandoned by her family aged 4 and left to look after her 1 year old brother. They went to Kampala Childrens Centre and then they brought her out onto the stage. Another story was of an 18 month old boy abandoned by his mother - don't mind admitting I had tears, as did a lot of other people.
All the children told of their dreams when they grew up - to become teacher's or doctor's or musicians. The Kampala Children's Centre helps to give them an education - something we all take for granted.
At the end, Anais and the rest of the children who had been doing workshops all day went up on stage to sing a song with them.
Tomorrow they play at Downing Street before they return to Uganda on Saturday.
Wow, wow and more wows, emotional and humbling.
I have put pictures on Facebook. xx
