We had a nice lie in this morning. We then went to Hobbycraft to look at the wool which is currently on 3 for 2 and I have a £5 voucher off a £20 spend too. I couldn't make my mind up though what wool, DK, cotton or aran? What colour? Brights or Pastels? One colour or a rainbow of colours? What blanket? Ripple blanket? Granny square? Granny stripe? We ended up leaving empty handed arrrgh!
I did buy this calendar from the garden centre though which was reduced to 25p.

It was the last "pretty" one, the only other ones left had pictures of fast cars or elephants. I won't use it as a calendar it will be butchered so the pretty papers can be used for other projects - one page is the calendar and the other page pretty things.
PROJECT CAR BOOT TABLE.........
On the way to pick the kids up from mom and dads we stopped off at Homebase to look at their range of bookcases (thats a whole other story!). We picked up this pot of mocha coloured paint reduced from £4.24 to £3.93 to £1.99 to 20p!

Remember last summer we brought this table from the car boot sale for 50p? We wanted to shabby chic it up but at the time didn't have any paint suitable for painting wood. I didn't want to spend a fortune on paint in case it all went wrong so we have been keeping an eye out for some "cheap as chips" paint. We saw the above paint earlier for 20p and as it was the same colour tones as our bedroom and the conservatory we got it! They had a load more in different colours which we probably should have got to keep for a rainy day. Oh well.

We both had a go at sanding the table down (over the kitchen sink!) with sand paper and then cleaning it with sugar soap. Here it is dismantled, sanded, cleaned and ready to be painted.......

We are now leaving it overnight ready for a second coat of paint tomorrow.
