Crochet Christmas blanket so far -
I have worked very hard on this today as I wanted to get the "CHRISTMAS" banner completed. I got further than I thought as I also managed to give each of the nine squares a white border of treble crochet. Now I just have to give the banners a border of white treble crochet too and crochet them together.
I started this on Friday 25th September at approx 10pm, the night before we were going to Harry Potter. I wanted something to take with me to do so asked Mark to print the "FATHER CHRISTMAS"chart out for me, did the first few clusters in the corner and then went to bed happy in the knowledge I had something to work on over the weekend. I hated it though (so much work - so many colour changes, wool getting knotted, so many ends to sew in) and thought instead of doing the blanket I would do a cushion cover instead, so I'm not sure what possessed me to do another eight squares and two banners. Am feeling quite proud of myself tonight as it is *almost* finished - I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It has taken exactly four weeks to get to this point.
*EDIT* - Mark just did some sums -
each picture square is 25*25 blocks of *3 treble crochet
each square is made up of 625 blocks or 1875 treble stitches
the banners are 11*87 blocks of *3 treble crochet
each banner is made up of 957 blocks or 2871 treble stitches
So, in total the blanket is made up of -
7539 blocks of *3 treble crochet
or 22,617 treble stitches
NOT INCLUDING ANY OF THE BORDER STITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. not showing picture of the back, still SO many ends to sew in! :-(
