This year World Book Day is on Thursday March 5th. That means there is only two full weekends left before World Book Day - we are busy next weekend and the weekend after is the weekend before Anais goes away with school so we thought we would have a go at making Roman's outfit today.
The theme at Roman's school this year is "101 Dalmations" - Roman wanted to go as a dalmation dog, Pongo. We could have sent him in with black jeans with a white t-shirt with painted black spots on. I had some old Primark pj's though that were dalmation spotty and I thought as I am learning to use the sewing machine I could have a go at making him a costume..................
It wasn't as easy as I thought though.....................
First I cut down each side of the trousers, zig zagged the sides together and then stitched up the sides. I forgot though that hips are wider than legs so he could only just pull them up and they were TIGHT, ooooops. I unpicked them and Mark made two triangles to go in each side to make them wider.
So on World Book Day this year Roman is going to be dressing up as Pongo!
I asked Anais if she would like to cook tea and she said yes. Here it is, pasta bake and garlic bread, very nice too thanks Anais! xx
