I had a nice but busy day today.
This morning was knitting group. I handed in the crochet premature baby blanket I did last week and got another two balls of wool to do another crochet ripple premmie blanket. This was how far I got by the end of tonight.
This afternoon was shopping with Nicolette, I got a ball of ruby red wool from the charity shop for £1 - am thinking of crochet Christmas items.
I also made a chocolate cake.
The interface came in the post today but I haven't had chance to use it yet.
This evening we went to see mom and dad.
Anais grouted her tray and it is now all finished.
Roman has been playing with his Lego.
The new Star Wars trailer. Roman is excited to go and see this.
Anais and Roman slept at grandma and grandad's house last night, I had a lie in this morning. I spent the morning in the warm conservatory listening to Absolute 80's and I started to sew all the ends in to Lexi's birthday blanket. I got two balls of wool from the charity shop for £1 each before picking Anais and Roman up. This afternoon I started to crochet some more welly cuffs in a lilac aran colour. I finished them off this evening when Anais and Roman had their swimming lessons. Anais and Roman are having another sleepover at grandma and grandad's house tonight.
Happy Birthday mom! xxxx
We had a nice day at home today. Anais and Roman made some cards, Anais did some loom banding and Roman played with his Lego.
We moved the patio set from the summer house to the patio so we can sit in the garden now the weather is better. The bush is flowering!
Pretty daffs Mark brought home.
When we were in Hobbycraft on the weekend I saw this crochet cuff welly kit for £5. I thought I could do that! I looked online and found lots of patterns but I liked this one. I adapted my pattern to suit me.
I did mine 25 stitches long as I wanted them longer than the original pattern. I used aran wool and a 4mm hook so they are quite tightly stitched. I did 27 rows of treble crochet with the join as you go to join the rows at the end. They were turned inside out so the seam is on the inside and a scallop crochet done to the top on every other row.
Anais made this yesterday but we forgot to take a photo yesterday.
Early this evening we went to see "Home" at the cinema. Very, very funny film!
Tonight Anais and Roman are having a sleepover at grandma and grandad's house.
Today went too fast! I didn't do much yesterday - a lot of "makes" but no housework. I caught up on the housework today. I also made another chick. Lexi's blanket so far............. No after school clubs today so Anais and Roman were home normal time. I had a go at purl knitting by watching lots of Youtube video's. This is completely alien to me and took me a LONG TIME to figure out. Anais saw me knitting and said she wanted to have a go. This is how far she got in the small amount of time she had before she had to go back to school. Roman saw Anais knitting and said he wanted to have a go so when Anais went out we found some chunky wool and bigger needles and sat down. It took him a long time to do this and he did more when we got back this evening. He understands the principles of the way the needles work and how the stitches are formed but hasn't quite mastered holding the needles yet - he holds them more like a magic wand. This evening we went to Anais' school for their music concert. Anais did three performance's -
SENIOR CLARINET GROUP - The Pink Panther & Over the Rainbow STRING GROUP - Hall of the Mountain King & Day'O SCHOOL ORCHESTRA - Chariots of Fire We stopped off at Asda on the way home for a boxes of cakes and it turned into quite a late night as we have three blogs to do now and Roman wanted to do more knitting! xx This morning was craft group. I made a cushion cover (all photo's today courtesy of Roman!).. This afternoon I gave Nicolette and Sharmae a crochet lesson in granny squares! No after school clubs today - Roman's cooking club was cancelled and there is no orchestra for Anais until September. Roman asked to do some cooking at home and we had already planned to make a fruit cake for Easter today. Anais didn't want to help as she doesn't like fruit cake. Before............... after.................. measured, mixed and cooked by Roman. We used this easy Christmas cake recipe which we have used before. Anais made a treasure hunt for Roman which turned out to be too hard for him as he didn't understand the clue's so Anais had to tell him where they were. Anais made this box as the prize. Roman claimed the box to glue his Iron Man painted egg in to take to school tomorrow. Lexi's birthday blanket so far. Mark was in London again all day today.
This morning we went to the cinema to see "Paddington Bear" - absolutely fantastic, we all loved it! This afternoon we finally set up a blog for Roman, he has been asking for a while now. It is "Roman's Empire"! This afternoon we popped out to buy a roller and tray - Mark decided to freshen up the conservatory and re-painted the house wall. I took a peek in the charity shop and picked up these lace curtain tie backs for £1. When we got home I used the stitch unpicker and took the lace off the heavy backing of one of the tie backs.. I used it to decorate the plain lampshade in the living room. Lexi's birthday blanket so far............................
Mark was working from home today, he tried to take some photo's of the eclipse. Remember when Roman said the sun was "the moon on fire"! One of those days today where there isn't enough hours in the day. This morning we went to a charity knitting group - we went to the wrong venue first though, oooops. You make the things (knitted or crochet - thought I would try my hand at knitting) and they either sell or give them away to charity. Bear in mind before today I could only knit frilly scarves and straight lines, this was what I did just before I left. What will it be? I carried on with the pattern when I got home. It turned into an Easter chick! I am itching to do more now! I also re-sewed the straps on my crochet bag from side to side instead of back to front. It is much better now. I started a border on the crochet blanket. I decided Lexi can have this for her birthday in November which should give me enough time to get all of those pesky ends sewn in! A close up.................. Anais went to pick Roman up from school while I made a pink cake. The icing was what was leftover from the cake Anais and Roman made for Mother's Day. I was hoping for a marbled effect but the colours just mixed. Roman's CornerToday I went to school in the morning I went to breakfast club at break fast I drawed a picture of the eclips then I went to my classroom at school then I went out side to watch the eclips with the glasses then the lessons I did were
break maths handwriting relags egicaiton (religious education) lunchtime science then it was home time then I came home and had my dinner then I read my book and did my spellings thanks for reading. :o) I thought I would do some sewing this morning and do another pouch with a zip while it was still fresh in my mind. The homework was to make it "boxy". Here was my first attempt - I sewed the corners in a triangle flat instead of in a "diamond" so it stayed flat, arrrrgh! I then realised that as it was quite deep I could cut the bottom off and start again. I got it right second time though it could have been a lot neater. I wanted to have another go but ran out of zips, what to do? Cut a zip from one of Roman's old jeans! I had a go at doing another but it wasn't very deep to begin with so came out a weird triangle shape once the "boxes" were done. They aren't perfect but I shall persevere. In between doing these the sewing machine played up and wouldn't sew..................I had a bent needle. Crochet so far - three rows of six squares joined together. Still not sure what to do with it yet. Roman went to week one of "Science Club" after school. He had a swimming lesson this evening. Anais stayed at school for film club this afternoon and then went to The Rep for the second performance with the drama club. Mark picked her up from school approx 8.45pm. Roman's CornerToday I went to school then I went to breakfast club and when I got in the class I did some.................

We looked at zips again. I made Anais a little pink pouch with triangled corners. This afternoon I sat in the warm conservatory and finished making tiny granny squares - I managed to get 42 squares out of all of the little scrap balls. I then did two rounds of white to each square and joined them together using the join as you go method. This was how far I got today. No cooking club for Roman today as the teacher was off. This evening we went to The REP to see Anais perform with the drama club. Well done Anais! The play was based on this quote from Albert Einstein. Anais wanted to come home on the school minibus with the rest of the drama club so we picked her up from school. Roman's CornerToday I went to school in the morning I did some
