This evening was college.
Roman's school was closed today as it was being used as a polling station. We went to the cinema to see a film of his choice, Avengers Age of Ultron. Not my cup of tea, I didn't have a clue who half of the characters were except for Iron Man and Hulk and had to keep asking him what was going on and who was the goodie and baddie! He loved seeing his Lego ship, the Quinjet in action!
The rest of the day was spent at home. Thank you Nicolette for Roman's birthday presents. He was playing with them this afternoon.

This morning we went to the cinema to see "Night at the Museum 3"
The rest of the day was spent at home - Anais and Roman did their homework. This evening we watched "Robocop".
Happy Birthday mom! xxxx
We had a nice day at home today. Anais and Roman made some cards, Anais did some loom banding and Roman played with his Lego.
We moved the patio set from the summer house to the patio so we can sit in the garden now the weather is better. The bush is flowering!
Pretty daffs Mark brought home.
When we were in Hobbycraft on the weekend I saw this crochet cuff welly kit for £5. I thought I could do that! I looked online and found lots of patterns but I liked this one. I adapted my pattern to suit me.
I did mine 25 stitches long as I wanted them longer than the original pattern. I used aran wool and a 4mm hook so they are quite tightly stitched. I did 27 rows of treble crochet with the join as you go to join the rows at the end. They were turned inside out so the seam is on the inside and a scallop crochet done to the top on every other row.
Anais made this yesterday but we forgot to take a photo yesterday.
Early this evening we went to see "Home" at the cinema. Very, very funny film!
Tonight Anais and Roman are having a sleepover at grandma and grandad's house.
This morning we went to the cinema to see "The Book of Life". It was a nice film although a bit dark. Home for lunch and then shopping this afternoon to get the last few bits for Anais' school trip next week.
Tonight Anais and Roman are having a sleepover at grandma and grandad's house. Mark was at the shops this morning at 9am and bought a new oven. He was home by 9.30 and by 10.30am it was in place and working! We then went to the cinema as planned to see "Dolphin Tale 2" - such a lovely, lovely film. This afternoon was shopping with Jenny, taking Roman to grandma and grandads house, taking Anais to a party, picking Anais up from party, dropping Anais off at grandma and grandads house and finally by 8.30pm we had sat down to tea watching a film "Mr Brooks" on Netflix.
Anais and Roman were excited to come downstairs this morning and find the crochet blanket had been finished! This morning we went to the cinema to see "The Box Trolls". Jenny came back to ours for lunch and then we got the knitting machines out. Elaine gave me this one when we were at the caravan last Easter. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, very fiddly and time consuming though I guess it just needs more practise. It didn't help that neither Jenny or I could clamp the machines to our table top as the top of the table is deep wood. Mark needs to come up with an "invention" to keep mine from moving around and Jenny needs legs for hers. Here is Jenny's machine..... Approx three hours later this is my poor attempt later! Must try again! Jenny got much further and hers was much neater than my attempt! Tonight Anais and Roman are having a sleepover at grandma and grandad's house.
Last year I read the book "The Book Thief". I loved the book and kept saying I would like to see the film so we settled down early to watch it tonight - lovely film, it didn't disappoint. Hope mom and dad are feeling better! xx This morning we got up and went to see "House of Magic", a lovely film about a stray cat, we all enjoyed it. When we got back we put all of the Christmas presents away. We are now back to normal and no longer looking like a department store! Roman took some of the packaging and made a "laptop". Roman wanted to play with his cars and trains so took over the living room floor. Anais helped him to build it................... Anais wants to have a go at doing a crochet ripple blanket. I said she needs to finish the granny square blanket she started in the summer first. She already had a pile of green granny squares she crocheted in the summer at the caravan. Today she started to make some cream ones and was eager to crochet them together to see what they would like. This is how far she got. She needs to do more cream granny squares now. (She is as bad as me, she doesn't like sewing ends in either!) Crochet blanket - 50 stripes of 84 stripes done - 34 stripes to do Roman has been enjoying wearing my slippers! We found a Christmas card in Roman's bedroom he made but forgot to give me. We watched "The Smurfs" while we ate tea followed by "Queen and Adam Lambert" what we recorded on New Years Eve. Roman was singing along. Anais said they can't sing and would only be good if they sang Olly Murs songs!
Happy 2nd Birthday Romanais! I have been blogging for 2 years today - my first blog posts here, here, here and here! I never thought I would stick at it for 2 weeks let alone 2 years! Thank you Nicolette for buying it for me - I have used it as per your instructions, yes? I hope everyone enjoys reading the little glimpse into our mad house! Also it is nice to look back and see all the things we have done, made and seen. This morning we went to the cinema to see "Alexander and the terrible, very bad, no good day". We have wanted to see this when we saw trailers for it - it is recent too, only released in October. Very, very good film, everyone enjoyed it, would recommend. Thanks mom and dad for our Christmas presents xxxx When we got back we watched "Pitch Perfect" (music film). Roman took apart his Lego and started to build a plane this time. This is how he lef it when he went to bed............ After the film Anais took her keyboard to her bedroom to play it. Crochet blanket - 13 rows done of 84 When Anais and Roman went to bed we watched "Argo" - dad you would like this - an excellent film.
Today was week three of "Christmas Crafts". We made cinnamon scented salt dough Christmas decorations. They can either be baked on a low heat which causes them to sligthtly rise to a £D effect or leave them to air dry. I am leaving mine to air dry. Shame there is no smell-o-vision as they smell like CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!! Anais went to orchestra today. Roman's club was cancelled. He asked to make mince pies instead so we picked up a pack of pre made pastry for convenience and he made these all by himself............... Mmmmmmmm, they were delicious! We were all very excited tonight to go to the cinema and see "Mockingjay Part 1". We all really enjoyed it and don't want to wait a whole 12 months to see part 2.
This morning we went to the cinema to see "The Nut Job" which was very funny. When we got back Anais and Roman each did their homework. We watched Arthur Christmas and made some Christmas Tree decorations using air dry clay. They are now being left to harden in the conservatory and then we can paint them. Mark made two more candle holders using our logs. The tea lights that are in them are Yankee Candle tealights and are quite deep. They hold a standard tea light better. We still have one and a half bags of coal left what we bought last year so we thought we would try it again last year. It actually went rather well today, we had to build it up gradually and lasted 6 hours! Roman has been playing with his Police Lego............ ................and Anais has been loom banding.
