Coastal crochet up to date. More pictures of my African flower square blanket. It was washed last night with fabric conditioner which has softened all of the seams. A page for the blanket has been created here. New project on the hook tonight.

This morning we got up and went to the car boot sale. Bargains to be had. This little lot for £6.10. Twenty seven various sized balls. Mark got a ball for 50p to do a border on his Coastal blanket. After lunch we put the caravan away. Not much to put away when we got home because we did it all yesterday. Its nice to be home but was nice being in the caravan, shame we couldn't have stayed for a little longer. I'm going to miss having all that free time! I missed baking. I made a ginger cake when we got back in my new tin. I lined it with strips going vertically and horizontally and it didn't stick. A bar of chocolate melted on the top, just because! Check out the cake plate I bought in Weymouth! Finally, my African flower square blanket is finished. I wanted to do it while we were on holiday in Weymouth and while we were in the caravan. I got it finished today doing the border while we were watching a film. Memories from the summer 2018 blanket - * crocheting in the car on the way to Weymouth * crocheting on the beach in Weymouth while Mark, Anais and Roman were in the sea * lovely lazy days spent in the caravan * crocheting at 7am cozy in bed while it was raining outside * Roman being brought home by the police who wanted to know what he was doing in his pyjamas by the road at 9pm (trying to get a good signal to download things to his phone - mortyfying!) * crocheting when we went to Worcester for the day * rain and rainbows * Anais reading six books in two weeks * Roman riding his bike everyday Better photos tomorrow when it has been through the washing machine to soften the joints up. STATS - *weight -1432 grams * thats almost 15 100 gram balls of yarn * 7 balls of white yarn to square the flowers, join and border * 8 balls of yarn in "other colours" for the flowers * flowers made with the leftovers to the original Persian Tiles blanket, Elements blanket, Persian Tiles Eastern Jewels blanket, Lily Pond blanket and Cosmic blanket * 144 squares in total * each square closed with the "invisible join" and ends sewn in as I went along (go me!) * first flower made Saturday 28th July, final flower made Thursday 16th August * joining started Thursday 16th August and finished Friday 17th August * border started Friday 17th August and finished Sunday 19th August * border three rounds - round one - treble crochet in white, round 2 - half treble crochet in navy, round three - crab stitch in navy Found this picture on my phone of last week, Roman made Stonehenge out of Domino and chess pieces. Anais is halfway through her sixth book in two weeks. Roman has been riding his bike and playing with his friend. Remember the crochet bunting Anais made two years ago? We used it in the awning again! Picture pinched from Anais' Instagram page, her clarinet compared to the bass clarinet to compare for size.
Nice and warm and sunny today. We took the awning down this evening. This afternoon we took a walk around the grounds at Coughton Court. Pictures to follow once we have wifi. Blanket is all joined and border has been started.
All 144 squares are complete and joining has begun! It rained all last night and Anais and Roman were awake at 5am complaining about the noise on the awning roof! It was lovely and sunny from midday onwards.
Happy Granny Square Day 2018!
I uploaded these to Instagram.
Ten squares done today, ten more left to!
We started our Christmas shopping this evening :-)
Warm but overcast today.
We popped to the shops and Anais bought herself some trainers and a top from Primark and Roman had some new trainers from Sports Direct (his old ones broke). Up to 124 squares made, only another 20 flowers to make and square. One African flower done last night, eleven African flowers done today, twelve flowers squared off today. Thirty two flowers left to make and square. Picture below - two piles of fifty squares and the twelve that got completed today Coastal crochet done in bed this evening, three rows done for todays rows. Nice, warm and sunny day today. Caz and co. came to visit.
Rain, rain and more rain overnight. We popped home to do some washing. Mark picked up his tools so he could look at the heater when we got back. He thinks one of the two heating elements has gone. Six flowers squared today, one hundred squares made in total. Forty four squares left to do. Roman modelling Coast crochet. Fridays rows finished.
Forgot to put these on yesterday, Mark thought he saw a woodpecker. Rain for most of the day. Romans granny square so far................ 80 squares made so far, 20 flowers made ready to square. 44 squares left to do.
Overcast this morning but it went sunny this afternoon followed by a few rain showers this evening. This is funny! Now up to 70 squares made with 14 flowers ready to be made into a square (of 144). Roman had a swimming lesson this evening.
