12.45am - back now. Had a great day. Started off going to local craft shop which had a sale on. Spent £3.50 on some crafty card making bits and wooden buttons. Then went for a walk around Bourton on the Water and had a picnic lunch by the river. From there drove to Witney and had a walk around there too.
Traffic to get to Highclere wasn't too bad with no long queue's. Doors opened at 4.00pm, we got there for 5pm and it started at 5.50pm. We took picnic table and chairs and had picnic lunch.
We saw a cavalry display, cannons going off to the music which was a full orchestra. Fireworks and Spitfire fly over. We bought Anais and Roman a flag each so they got in the spirit waving their flags to Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem and Rule Britannia! Lots of fireworks! Was a great atmosphere.
Not too hard to get out either. 10,000 people there meant lots of cars, not much queueing to get out, it was very well organised. Kids fell asleep in the car on the way home.
Weather was good too, no rain and bright and sunny. Went a little colder this evening but we all took fleece blankets to wrap ourselves up in to keep warm. At the end everyone stood up to see the fireworks and flag wave to all the patriotic songs so we all kept warm then anyway. lots of photo's and video to eventually upload to Facebook. For now, bed xx
