First attempt I pulled the wire too tight and snapped it. Game over.
This evening was swimming lessons.
I finished the Christmas poinsetta, pattern here. Crafts today - Christmas trees out of wire and beads. First attempt I pulled the wire too tight and snapped it. Game over. Second attempt, I didn't pull the wire tight enough. I forgot to post a picture of Romans Lego Christmas tree yesterday. Roman went to football club after school.
This evening was swimming lessons. Frosty this morning. Cassie was frozen inside and out. Everywhere was frosty.
Shopping this morning. A new 2017 calendar to keep up with Anais. Two new projects started today, a poinsetta and a new hat for Roman. Both to be finished tomorrow. Roman went to cricket club after school.
We went to Coughton Court today but the only timed tickets they had to go round the house were for later on in the afternoon so we walked around the grounds instead. This afternoon we made a new Christmas wreath - the padding from the trampoline, a glue gin, tinsel, pine cones and baubles. We all had a go and it took approx 2 hours. Roman has again pinched the hats for his meerkat! Anais did her homework and Roman made a Lego Christmas tree.
Thanks mom and dad for having Anais and Roman last night. Anais went to clarinet orchestra this morning. This afternoon we put the Christmas trees up which was a lot of fun! Just some of the boxes, we forgot about some and had to go find another 4 boxes out of the loft! We heard a loud bang on the conservatory roof and sent Roman out to see what it was. A black bag full of Christmas goodies. Festive Fred! More pictures (slide show)................................ Roman made a batch of mince pies.................. (he likes "open" pies with no lid on)
Nothing very interesting happened today. I cleaned the conservatory and moved a bit of furniture for the Christmas tree to go TOMORROW! I made a cake for the weekend. Tonight was Marks Christmas works meal out. I had baked cheddar mushrooms for a starter and mushroom tagliatelle for a main course and was too full for pudding. Mark had nachos for a starter, a burger for a main and a creme brulee for pudding.
Now back at 11.55pm off to catch up with Graham Norton! xx Roman all ready and excited for his school trip. Mark brought another poinsetta home. This Christmas blanket is now finished - all lined! Now I (kind of) know what I was doing, I did the other Christmas blanket too. Can't believe I put off lining the first blanket because I hate hand sewing and then end up doing two in two days! Here are the two Christmas blankets together. Anais and Roman now have one each. Roman had a nice time at Blists Hill today with school. He brought home........ sweets, chocolate raisins and a big ginger biscuit................... a newspaper from 1895.............. ......................a coin. Anais took Roman to an event at school tonight so we went shopping.
I have been busy today. This morning I finished the second cushion. They are now a matching pair in the conservatory. Crafts was cancelled so I started to sew the lining to the back of the Christmas blanket. Bye, bye hundreds of horrible ends. I just whip stitched the stitches where the white border met the red border using an Ikea fleece blanket (fleece doesn't fray). Not finished yet, about two thirds done. Will finish it tonight/tomorrow. Anais' bauble made with glue, wool and a balloon. It didn't collapse when she took the balloon out. Now we need to spray it with starch spray and hang it up somewhere. This evening was swimming lessons. Roman hasn't worn the hat I made him last week. I don't think it was "fun" enough. While they were swimming I started to make a crochet beard to attach to the hat. He asked if I could finish it tonight so he could take it on his school trip tomorrow. I used buttons to attach it to the hat instead of sewing in on. Free pattern found here. I used size medium for Roman. Roman had cricket club after school.
Anais did her music homework and made us laugh. Apparently you can download music from Catnap (Napster!). Who knew?!?! Found this earlier and thought it was quite interesting. I changed my blog wallpaper to this......................... Holidays are coming, holidays are coming, its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Not much done on crochet granny square, it gets a bit boring just going round in a square so I have been occupying myself doing other things instead. Anais had a netball match after school (her team lost). Thanks mom and dad for taking Roman to orchestra and saving us another trip out. Anais was back in time to go to the second half of orchestra after the break. Well done Roman, three weeks at orchestra and he got "Player of the Week"! Anais got awarded with one as well as a well done for going after her netball match. Anais has a new project on the go tonight. Here is a balloon covered in PVA glue and wool and drying in front of Fred. I have no idea what it will be either!
It hasn't stopped raining all day today. The curtains were opened for a short period and then closed shortly after to keep the heat in. Who wants to look at grey skies and rain anyway? Crochet cushion finished, its for the conservatory. Just one big granny square, can go this way................. .................or this way. I started another, also for the conservatory, to replace the brown check ones I made (a long time ago). Anais went to extra maths after school and Roman went to cricket club.
Roman had fun making "Elf Yourself" vieos on the computer! |
