Roman went to a Halloween party after school.
Oh, and Romans been waiting for ages....................
He finally got to wear his Halloween pumpkin hat!
Not much to show for today apart from one clean house which has been blitzed from top to bottom. Roman went to a Halloween party after school. Only a little painting done today - the cupboard doors at the top of the stairs.
Oh, and Romans been waiting for ages.................... He finally got to wear his Halloween pumpkin hat! Last night I got stung by a wasp. it hurt (still does now too). My finger swelled up. The clocks went back last night. We all enjoyed an extra hour in bed. First thing for today was source two shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Anais did a girl aged 10-14 and Roman did a boy aged 5-9. Boxes sourced, packed and wrapped and ready to be taken to a local drop off point between 1st and 18th November. I finished this puppy dog hat which was supposed to be for Roman but is now going in Roman's Operation Christmas Child box. Pattern here from Repeat Crafter Me. He hasn't seen it yet because I finished it while he was in bed. if he likes it that much I may have to make another for him! Also today we decided to repaint the hall, stairs and landing to freshen it up. We bought some paint from Wilkinsons, only when Mark went into the shed he found we had a tin in exactly the same colour. So we have to take it back in the week for a refund.
We didn't get very far as he started late in the day, only the hallway done so far. to be continued.................................... We are home now, the alarm went off at 6.30am and 6.45 am. We got up finished packing, hoovered everywhere and went for a walk to The Point. We saw two seals swimming!!!!!!!!!!!!! Four and a half hours back but we did stop off to do some shopping. We are mostly unpacked and have lots of washing to do. Its nice to go away but always nice to come home. We have had Fred on which has been lovely, warm and homely. Picture of Marks plane he started and finished while we were away. I cooked a cake before we went away and put it in the freezer. When we got back all I had to do was get it out the freezer and ice it. Anais and Roman carved a pumpkin each. Anais' is the "S" for Superman and Romans is the "Flash" symbol. Roman and I made some strawberry jam.
Last day of the holiday today and another lovely day too. We went to Martins Haven to see if we could spot any seals.................. and we did too! How exciting! It was quite hard to see them as we were on the top of the cliffs and they were on the beach below. They were the same colour as the rocks so very hard to spot. After a quick trip to Tesco we came back to the apartment to start packing and then went for a walk around Little Haven to appreciate the old quirky buildings. Little Haven is such a pretty little village. We also walked to The Point and saw something bobbing around in the sea, it turned out to be another seal. We never see any seals and then see a lot over two days! After tea we took a final walk to the beach and to The Point.
This morning we went shopping to buy Anais and Roman a new coat each. When we came back the tide was out so we did the walk from Little Haven to Broad Haven along the beach and back again. We saw a crab and some starfish. Back to the apartment for lunch, we then went back to St Brides Bay. It was raining when we were last there on Tuesday. It was much nicer today and we saw a seal!!!!!!!! We sat watching him for approx an hour. he was quite happy sitting on the rocks and took no notice of us. When the tide started to come in he kept moving further up the beach! We went for a walk to The Point and for dinner in the pub. Back for another walk after tea to walk our dinner off.
Warm and sunny again today. Its been really mild for the end of October. We made a picnic and went to tenby. We also went to the Tudor Merchants house. After Tenby we went to Saundersfoot. Back to the apartment for tea and then a walk to the Point to see the sun set and a paddle on the beach.
It was warm and sunny this morning. We walked to The Point. The tide was part way out so we went back to get our wellies on and walk part way down the beach before it came back in. We took a picnic lunch to St Brides Bay but the heavens opened and we got soaked so we came back to the apartment for a few hours, put our PJ's on and watched "Robots". Back out for a walk to The Point and to the beach after tea (the tide was in again). Marks model plane so far.
Wet, rainy, damp and cold today. We made a picnic and went to St Davids. We had a walk around the town and saw the Cathedral. We had a picnic lunch at Porth Clais and had a walk to the harbour. The ranger there said there was a baby seal in the harbour and to keep an eye out for it. We looked and looked but didn't see it. A quick trip to Haverfordwest to go to Tesco, we then spent the rest of the afternoon in the apartment.
After tea we went for a walk to the cove and the Point. It has been warm, sunny and dry all day. We wanted to walk to Broad Haven but the tide was in. We spent almost two hours on the beach instead, throwing stones and rock pooling. Back to the apartment for lunch we sent a few hours in watching a film, Mark did some of a model plane, I did crochet and Anais and Roman did some art. We cooked a gammon for tea and then went back to the beach to try that walk to Broad Haven again............................... .........................but the tide was still in. We went to get the car and drove to Broad Haven instead. We flew the kite on the beach, had a paddle in our wellies and walked to and around The Slash Pond. Back to the apartment for tea and we went down to The Point at 6.15pm to see the sun set. Unfortunately we were too late so tomorrow we will try to go down earlier. This evening mark took roman for another walk to the beach.
We had a nice time at Dolaucothi Gold Mines. We did the Victorian tour and saw bats!!!!!!!!! Smaug had a nice time panning for gold! We managed to get a few small pieces. This year we have apartment 2, a ground floor apartment which is nice and cozy. After tea we went for a little walk to the cove.
