Views out of the windows. There are bird tables outside the lodges to feed the wildlife to encourage them NOT to come into the lodges!
The lodge when we left it this morning.
We left just after 9AM and stopped off at Aberdulais Tin Works and Water Fall (National Trust). Aberdulais was an hour away and luckily it opened at 10Am so we got there for when it opened and had a look around there. Such a pretty little place.
We stopped off at Monmouth and had our picnic there. We had a walk around the town.
The only recycling Pant Glas accepted was paper, glass and tin. We brought our tetra packs, plastic and cardboard home to be recycled and saved this lot from going to landfill.
I read this book on holiday and couldn't put it down.

The alarm clock went off at 6AM and we were up for 6.30Am and out for 7Am for the week 4, run 3 run. We went on the streets again which are quite hilly. We had to do - We both had to walk during the last three and five minute run as they were both uphill and we couldn't manage it. We were angry when we got back to the lodge as we knew we could do it, we did it on the treadmill on Wednesday. So we went out again with the intent on doing one final five minute run and both ended up running non stop for seventeen minutes. Some of that was downhill which is probably cheating but a lot was on the flat so we are proud of ourselves and our achey legs tonight!
The rest of the day was spent in. We packed, Anais and Roman went swimming, we have read books, played table tennis, played tennis, played basketball, went for a walk to the lake and watched two films (Maze Runner and Secret Life of Pets). It was raining this morning though not as heavy as yesterday morning. We had homemade pancakes for breakfast. Grasshopper outside this morning. We went to Dolaucothi Gold Mine. We did the Victorian tour which lasted for an hour, half if which was spent underground. After the tour we went back to the car and had lunch and then went back in. Anais and Roman went panning for gold and we did a tour of the little buildings and borrowed an audio guide so we could do the Roman tour by ourselves which was very interesting. This afternoon Anais and Roman went swimming.
After tea they went to play basketball while we went to see what DVD's we could borrow. This evening we ate popcorn and watched "Jumanji". The alarm clock went off at 6AM, we got up, looked out of the window and went back to bed. Heavy rain meant no run this morning so we went back to bed. We decided to stay in this morning, mark borrowed a book which he has been reading, I have been crocheting, Roman played on his tablet and Anais did some painting. At 11AM Anais and Roman went swimming so we decided to be brave and go and use the running machines in the gym. We asked the attendant for instructions on how to use them first so there would be no embarrassing Youtube moments. They were quite simple to use and we actually really enjoyed using them as it pushed us to run more because it took a while to press the buttons to make the machine slow down. We got through week 4, run 2 fine and even did another 3 minute run after the last 5 minute run. The only thing we didn't like was when the machines stopped it felt like we had motion sickness. mark had to sit down for a few minutes and I left the building swaying, I must have looked drunk! A very strange sensation! Here are my stats though I'm not sure what they mean, Mark lost his by pressing the wrong button and starting his workout again instead of saving it. This includes all walking warm ups and warm downs too. We came back to the lodge for a shower and lunch and then went to Carmarthen. We walked around the shops and found the ruins of Carmarthen Castle. We went to the pub for tea, Mark and I had a hummus and roasted vegetable wrap, Mark had chips and I had salad. Roman had a lasagne and chips and Anais had a cheese and tomato toastie with chips. Spot the Heidi Bears in the shop window! Nelly the Elephant and Jedi the Giraffe! When we got back to the lodge this evening Anais and Roman went to play basketball.
A busy but jam packed day and it was lovely and sunny too! First stop was Tenby and The Tudor merchants House. We went down to the beach and had a walk around the town. We had lunch on the view point over looking the beach. Next stop was Saundersfoot, we had a walk down the beach and then around the shops. We drove round the coast to Wisemans Gate. We went to Amroth and stopped off at Laugharne Castle. We got back quite late, Anais and Roman went swimming while tea cooked (pizza and chips). We borrowed a DVD "Star Trek" and this evening they went to play basketball before it went dark.
This morning was run day, week 4 - run 1. We had to - * 5 minute warm up walk * run - 3 minutes * walk - 90 seconds * run - 5 minutes * walk - 2.5 minutes * run - 3 minutes * walk 90 seconds * run - 5 minutes * 5 minute coold down walk We did OK and managed the first 3 minute run and the two five minute runs. The only time we struggled was on the second three minute run which we had to do going up a slight incline so we had to walk for a few seconds to get to the top and then continued to run. We are not sure how accurate they are as Strava struggled to sync and said there was no GPS but it recorded us as follows - * ME - 2.84 km, pace - 7.37 km, time - 21 m 41 s * MARK - 3.17 km, pace - 6.28 km, time - 20 m 33s We came back to the lodge for breakfast and a shower and made a picnic, we then went to Dinefwr, a parkland, castle and old house. We did the house first, then did a walk of the grounds and to the castle. Back to the car for a picnic lunch and then back to the house for a guided tour 12.30 - 1.30. Look at the sky when we went in at 10.00 compared to when we came out an hour later - mist to blue sky! We got back to the lodge just after 2pm. Anais and Roman went swimming, we watched a film and had tea. After tea we went for a walk around the grounds and then Anais and Roman went to the basketball court for a game of basketball.
Very foggy here first thing this morning.
We decided to stay in today. Firstly, we thought no where would be open in rural Wales on a Sunday. Secondly, we spent a long time in the car yesterday and finally, it was a nice day so we decided to make use of the facilities here. We had a lazy morning in the lodge, I made pancakes for breakfast. Atl 10.30 we went to the welcome meeting and had some bara brith and Welsh cakes. We came back to the apartment for lunch. Mark got the fold up picnic table out and we ate lunch outside with the parasol up. After lunch we had a game of crazy golf and then went to play table tennis. This afternoon Anais took Roman to the park and then they went swimming. After tea we went for a walk around the grounds. This evening we watched Poldark and Peaky Blinders.
This morning we were up early to go for a run, week 3, run 2. Marks phone crashed again so he has no stats but we ran together so his will be the same as mine -
DISTANCE - 1.95 km, PACE - 7.42 km, TIME - 15 m 03 s We went home for breakfast and a shower, packed the car and made our way on holiday. First stop was Abergavenny Castle and town.
From there we made our way to Carmarthen where the traffic was terrible as there had been an accident. it took over an hour to get into town and then over an hour to get out of Aldi car park.
We finally got to Pant Glas Hall approx 5.30pm. The lodge we are staying in is lovely.
Roman went swimming, we came back to the lodge for tea and then went for a walk around the grounds.

A day of jobs today. We took 22 milk cartons and a load of recycling to the tip. We have been quite vigilant with our recycling even bringing it home from holiday to make sure it is recycled properly. Three passports applied for. An almond cake made. A new library book collected. Anais made a paper flower.
We were up early to go for a run this morning, week 3, run 2. We had to - * do a five minute warm up walk * run for 90 seconds * walk for 90 seconds * run for 3 minutes * walk for 3 minutes * run for 90 seconds * walk for 90 seconds * run for 3 minutes * a five minute cool down walk My stats are - Distance covered - 1.98 km Pace - 7.35 km Time - 15.05 s Marks stats are - Distance covered - 2.02 km Pace - 7.35 km Time - 15.20 s Well done to Anais who passed her GCSE maths retake! xx I had a lovely day at Gillys house for crafties, chatting, laughing and cuddling Lauras twins who are now 2 months old. I have belated birthday presents, a notebook and pouch made with vintage fabric from Sarah and a plant, three balls of blue yarn to make a shawl and chocolates (I ate the chocolates already!) from Karen. Nic made us a beaded bag charm each. Anais spent the day finishing this model.
