2012 Christmas Cards

Until a few years ago we always used to send boxed Christmas cards.  Then I started making my own as I thought it was more personal.  For the past 2 years we have made these though so the whole family can get involved!

Firstly, make fingerprints using brown paint.  Largest fingerprint first.  Set up a production line!  Approximately, 5 large finger prints down each piece of A4 paper.

We then end up with several of these...

When they are dry, Mark draws on antlers...

and eyes...

We used a red glitter glue pen for Rudolphs red shiny nose

and all took turns to write our names under our reindeers!

We do this to each page, like I said, a production line!

We cut each reindeer family out and mounted it onto silver card...

By the time the red glitter noses had dried, they had gone flat so we added a dab of Glossy Accents to the top of each glitter nose.  This gave a more raised appearance and also made the noses more shiny!

We then left the noses to dry again before we could mount them onto the cards...

We drew a silver line around the outside of the card to mirror the silver card the reindeers were mounted on and also added a silver "Merry Christmas" sentiment.

Voila!!!  Our finished cards which the whole family got involved in making and enjoyed.  We even put a cheesy Christmas sentiment inside the cards saying "Merry Christmas from our "deer" family!"

We have done reindeers for the past 2 years now and have been thinking about what we could different for next year.  Perhaps black and white penguins?  Or white glitter snowmen on black card?  Anyone have any ideas?!?!
