A lovely day today! We went to Avoncrot Museum!
Anais went with school last term and I went years ago when I was at junior school too. It was excellent value for money, £19.80 for a family ticket and we spent three and a half hours there, lots of interesting things to see.
The kids really enjoyed seeing the blacksmith cast an iron key ring into a leaf design, even imprinting the leaf with veins!
Highlight was the very interesting telephone exchange, Anais and Roman enjoyed looking and playing with the old telephones and examples of old telephone boxes. They both had a go at making lace which looked very intricate and complicated but so pretty once made up. They also saw a lady spinning wool into thread.
We had a little train ride on the scale railway. This weekend was "Victorian Fair" weekend so there were lots of people dressed up in old Victorian clothes. Would recommend it to families, it was a lovely day out.
This afternoon we had a little trip to Hobbycraft which isn't too far away from Avoncroft.
When we got back to the caravan this evening the weather was lovely so we had a BBQ, the first one for weeks! Anais and Roman rode their bikes around the field for an hour.
Last night I started to crochet the cushion following the pattern from Homemaker magazine this month. It took a while to figure the pattern out as each row has to be crocheted in either the front or back loops but I love it, it is so squishy! I am now up to round 17 of 28 and will then have to do it all again for the other side of the cushion. I will upload a photo soon.
