EDIT - 300 latches done on dolphin latch today, 54 blocks of 10x010 to do = 5400 latches to go!
Mark has wanted to try home brewing in ages so we brought this real ale kit to try. It came with bucket, 23 plastic beer bottles and lids, a huge spoon, yeast, syphon tube, sterilizing powder and can of beer mix.
First we had to sterilize the bucket with the sterilizing powder.
When the bucket had been sterilized we emptied the can of beer into it.
A kettle full of boiling water was added to dissolve the thick syrup like mixture.
Cold tap water was added to make the liquid up to 11.5 litres.
We have left the bucket in a corner of the living room out of the way as it said to be left for 7 days in a warm dry place. When it was in place we sprinkled the sachet of yeast over the top of the mixture and put the lid on loosely.
This is the beer all finished at 11.5 litres where it will stay for seven days. It says on the instructions that after 7 days it can be syphoned into bottles and left to clear for a further 14 days. Will update with the bottling process again in a week!
